Girls Leading our World (GLOW)

Women Empowering Nations partners with schools to provide self esteem and leadership development programming to cohorts of high school girls of color through the Girls Leading Our World Program. Through our monthly advisory curriculum, quarterly leadership sessions, and virtual component girls have access to videos, lessons, and resources aligning to personal growth, social/emotional intelligence, career development, and global awareness.

GLOW Travel Seminar

Girls' mentoring experience culminates with the opportunity to participate in a Girl Leading Our World travel seminar where they travel abroad to participate in the travel seminar and leadership development with young women of the African diaspora. WEN has hosted travel seminars to Senegal, Gambia, Morocco, The Netherlands, Tanzania, Ghana, and South Africa.

GLOW Annual Leadership Summit

The Girls Leading Our World (GLOW) Summits have been held in The Gambia, West Africa, Tulsa, OK, Oklahoma City, OK, Houston, TX, Mwanza, Tanzania, and Accra, Ghana. In 2020, the annual Summit became a virtual convening bringing together young women from around the  globe. The conference hosts young women leaders for engaging workshops to explore social change, economic justice, women’s empowerment, and leadership.

GLOW Global Cohort

Women Empowering Nations provides young women 17-23 with the opportunity to join the Girls Leading Our World (GLOW) Global Cohort – an immersive, high-impact leadership coaching experience. These leaders work with industry experts and other young women from around the world, focusing on topics of authentic leadership, professional branding, career planning, public speaking skills, and more.

GLOW Global Fellowship

The GLOW Global Fellowship was a paid, four-month hands-on experience in the beauty industry, which concluded with a capstone and group travel seminar in Accra, Ghana in November 2022. GLOW Global fellows worked for four months in teams with other fellows from around the world developing multi-cultural business pitches to enhance the Cantu brand. The fellowship culminated with a once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunity bringing together girls of the African diaspora back to one of the key areas of the transatlantic slave trade, Accra, Ghana.
